B is for Barrel of Laughs

Jathan's kept me laughing alot lately.  I couldn't help myself in documenting some of his most current servings of silly and sweet.  Love.love.love.

1.  Eating hamburgers for dinner the other night, he looks at Russell and says "Mmmmm, tasty!"  I think he was buttering up the chef to make sure dessert was on the agenda!

2.  Referring to the crazy winter weather we've had recently, he nonchalantly said "It's chilly outside.  Der's a lil bita snow out der."  That's probably the understatement of the year!

3.  There were a couple of guys in our neighborhood the other day going around and painting people's house numbers on the curbs.  We needed ours redone, so we let Jathan choose the icon.  He chose Texas Rangers, ran inside, put on his Rangers cap, and ran back outside to watch the guys paint.  He was so proud!  He loves him some Texas Rangers!

4.  While picking up the house one day this week, I told Jathan "Watch out baby doll."  He said "No, no, I not baby dog."

5.  Russell asked Jathan what he was going to cook us for supper and Jathan responded with an as-a-matter-of-fact-that's-not-my-department-look "Uhhhhhhhhhhh, Mommy go do it."

6.  He was playing with a little toy he got for Christmas - a Santa that pedals a bike.  He showed it to me and I said "Ohhh look, SANTA!"  He said with attitude, "Santa CLAUSE!"  Come on, Mom, get it right!

7.  Jathan loves Funions.  He comes by it honestly.  I craved them while I was pregnant with him and more times than not, it's our family snack food on road trips.  Russell took him to the grocery store today and they got some to snack on this afternoon on their snow day.  Russell said Jathan affectionately referred to them as "O Chips."  He's all into letters and shapes these days.

8.  (Added 02/12/11)  Jathan gave me a hug and looked at Russell and said:  "My Mommy."  Russell jokingly said: "Oh well, you can have her!"  Jathan's response:  "whatever."  ROFL...such a funny guy!

9.  (Added 02/21/11)  Jathan came into the living room stark naked, holding a pull up. He said "Mommy I got pull up." I asked him what happened to his underwear thinking he must have had an accident. He said "I toot in it". LOL. I guess there's something to be said for ensuring freshness at all times! Too funny!

10.   (Added 03/09/11)  Russell fixed breakfast (a toaster strudel) for Jathan one morning. After I got finished getting ready, I walked into the living room and was greeted with a big "HI MOMMY!". I smiled and asked him if he ate breakfast to which he answered yes. When I asked him what he ate, he looked over at Russell as if to ask "what was that again?!". Russell mouthed to him "strudel.". Jathan turned to me and very proudly said "I ate a turtle!".
