We have had quite the trying past two weeks with Jathan's behavior. This week has been quite the struggle with hitting, obedience, and attitude while at daycare. We've had talks with him, tried adjusting his schedule, and everything in between. After a particularly bad day today, we came home and talked about his attitude and behavior and tried to incentivize him to act like a big boy and obey his teachers. Yes, that's right, we are trying to bribe our two year old. Eeeek! Don't judge! We told him we'd go camping if he could have a good day at daycare with no reports of hitting, screaming or talking back. We'll see how it goes. It's just so odd, because he never acts like this - so uncharacteristic of him.
As I was putting Jathan to bed, we talked about how we were going to apologize to Ms. Alicia and Ms. Kaylee tomorrow and that we would say "yes, ma'am" when they asked him to do something. We then started to say his prayers. Here was his prayer tonight:
"Dear God, thank you for hotdogs, Jesus, and CAMPING!" (I then helped him with the rest "please help me to be a good boy and be nice to my teachers and friends.") Well, I guess that's an improvement from his prayer on Sunday at lunch that went: "Dear God, ABCDEFG."
Here's toasting to a better day tomorrow and a future post that reports on our fun camping trip! Prayers appreciated!
