B is for Boo!

Happy Halloween from the Bishops!

We've had a fun halloween.  We started it with carving Sesame Street pumpkins a week ago.  We made an Ernie and an Elmo.  Jathan liked them as long as it wasn't completely dark when they were lit.  He really enjoyed using his spoon to dig out the "guts."  They turned out really cute, but unfortunately, they didn't last very long.  The very next day they were already rotting so we threw them away after only 2 days.  I didn't even get a chance to get a picture of the finished products!  Bummer!

We also baked and decorated halloween cookies....YUMMY!

Jathan's daycare had a small fall festival and halloween party on Friday.  I was sad that I didn't get to go this year.  That's the first activity I've missed since he's been in daycare.  :-(  I think he had fun though!  He came home with lots of goodies.

Around 1:30 Sunday afternoon, I told Jathan it was naptime.  He whined and said "nuhhh uhhhh."  I told him that he needed to take a nap so he could be rested to go trick or treating that night.  His eyes lit up and he ran into his room and got on his bed.  I followed right behind him and got him situated with his "mat."  He looked up at me and said "I go trickatree."  I didn't even know he really understood the concept, but obviously he did!  When he woke up, we got him decked out in his Spiderman costume. (We let him pick his costume this year.  I don't think he really knows what Spiderman is, but that's what he chose and he LOVES wearing the costume.  Works for me.)

Isn't he the CUTEST little Spiderman you've ever seen?!

A church in our neighborhood had a community-wide fall festival/trunk or treat event Sunday afternoon.  We took him to that and he had so much fun. He rode the train, jumped in the jump house, played the bean bag toss, did the cake walk (and won!), bowled, had his face painted, and more! (I'll try to post more pictures later.  For some reason, blogger isn't allowing me to load more than one at a time on my post!)

We also took him to a few houses for the traditional trick or treating.  He'd knock on the doors, basically invite himself in to houses and go through the candy bowls to pick what he wanted!  How embarassing!  Oh well!  He had a blast!
